Diana Maxfield is a first-generation Peruvian-American born and raised in Maryland. She felt displaced growing up because she was one of the few Latinas, if any, in her classes, let alone as a Peruvian. Diana never felt like she belonged anywhere which is why she strives to be inclusive. She doesn’t want anyone to feel alone as she did while growing up.
Being part of Progressive Harford is where Diana feels like she belongs because she believes we are all working together for the betterment of our community. Her philosophy is “Think globally but act locally,” which is why she committed to joining Progressive Harford. Diana stresses the need to protect Pacha Mama (Mother Earth) and hold our elected officials accountable through our work in co-governing.
